  1.               NetWize v0.9 - AN APPLETALK MANAGER FOR THE MACII

  4.    Since a lot of people have asked for the MacII version even before it
  5. was completed I decided to release it in this state.  It is mostly 
  6. functional,those bits which don't for one reason or another, have had their
  7. menu's disabled.  This is not a feature that you will have topay to get hold
  8. of its just that they are not properly completed yet to my satrisfaction. You
  9. may think that most of this is unsatifactory, well you have your opinion 
  10. I've got mine.

  12.    There is a simple online HELP system provided, but functions mainly to
  13. state what is available and what is not.  What is available I hope you have 
  14. fun with, ie Network maps, Internet Lists, ECHO that works, Node Histories,
  15. Zone Statistics, Responder etc.

  17.     One note though, the Network Maps (in PICT format) places alongside of 
  18. network number a statement of what protocol type is being used, these notes
  19. were generated as guidlines and are not to be taken literally.  The guidlines 
  20. I used was as follows, I shall be providing a method for you to change these 
  21. guidlines to suit your network scheme:

  23. Network numbers less than 256 are violations
  24. Network numbers between 257 and 511 are IP Talk
  25. Network numbers between 512 and 767 are EtherTalk Phase 1
  26. Network numbers between 768 and 1023 are EtherTalk Phase 2
  27. Network numbers greater than 1023 are LocalTalk

  30.      There are a lot of hidden facets to this program that are not imediatly apparent,
  31. ie. lots of text files are generated and by altering these you can get the NetWize
  32. tobehave in different ways.  For an example of the latter statement you can change via
  33. and editor, I strongly suggest SigmaEdit (its neat, its simple and does exactly what 
  34. I wany) but others will dojust fine, the ordering of the contents of the ZoneList file
  35. so that when you do an Internet List or a Network Map, the output is in that order.
